The Duffer Brothers, creators of Stranger Things, were inspired by a mix of 1980s pop culture, including classic movies, TV shows, and books. They drew inspiration from the works of Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, and John Carpenter, as well as from the iconic films of that era such as E.T., Stand by Me, and The Goonies. The show is also heavily influenced by the supernatural and science fiction elements present in many 80s stories. The Duffer Brothers aimed to create a nostalgic and thrilling series that pays homage to the entertainment of their youth. **
